Welcome to the St. James Parish Catholic Women’s League, Okotoks, Alberta
“The Big Rock” is an enormous glacial erratic – a rock transported far from its place of origin (Jasper National Park, AB) by glacial ice (about 12,000 years ago), located 7km west of the town of Okotoks. The 16,500-tonne (18,200-ton) quartzite boulder is the world’s largest known glacial erratic. Our town’s name, Okotoks, is derived from “o’kotok” [ˈokətokˈ], meaning “rock” in the Blackfoot language.
Jesus is the firm rock upon which we, as a Church community, build the kingdom of God here on earth. Mary was the one who made this possible in her willingness to open herself to the Holy Spirit and to allow herself to be an instrument of God’s grace when she accepted to be the mother of Jesus, the Son of God.
With a new year upon us and a new National theme, “One Heart, One Voice, One Mission”, we invite the women of St. James Parish to come and join the Catholic Women’s League (CWL). To download the membership form, go to ‘Contact Us‘.
General Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month with Mass at 7:00 pm and meeting to follow.
Our meetings are held at St. James Church, 338040 – 32nd Street East, Okotoks, Alberta.
We do not meet during the months of June, July, August and December.
